Commandment Keeping is Essential to Attainment of Life Eternal!

Do You Love Jesus?

Jesus stated in John 14:15, " If you love Me, keep the commandments— namely, My commandments." Simply put in Matthew 19:16-17, " Now at that time, one came to Him {Jesus} and said, 'Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?'  17  And He said to him, 'Why do you call Me good? No one is good except one—God. But if you desire to enter into life, keep the commandments.' "

The Ten Commandments Given by the LORD

Exoodus 20:1-17, "And God spoke all these words, saying, 2 'I am the LORD your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 You shall have no other gods before Me.

4 You shall not make for yourselves any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters under the earth. 5 You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, 6 But showing mercy to thousands of those who love Me and keep My commandments.

7 You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

8 Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work. 10 But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter; your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your livestock, nor the stranger within your gates; 11 For in six days the LORD made the heaven and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and sanctified it.

12 Honor your father and your mother so that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God gives you.

13 You shall not murder.

14 You shall not commit adultery.

15 You shall not steal.

16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

17 You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.' "

Commandment Keepers Have Works!

As a believer , you need to take proper actions to attaine this goal: Matthew 6:33, "But as for you, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

How is righteousness accomplished? 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and lawlessness have in common? And what fellowship does light have with darkness? 15 And what union does Christ have with Belial {worthlessness; Belial, as an epithet of Satan}? Or what part does a believer have with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement is there between a temple of God and idols? For you are a temple of the living God, exactly as God said: 'I will dwell in them and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 17 Therefore, come out from the midst of them and be separate,' says the Lord, 'and touch not the unclean, and I will receive you; 18 And I shall be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters,' says the Lord Almighty."

Revelation warns us to avoid the sins of the world: Revelation 18:4-5, "Then I heard another voice from heaven say: 'Come out of her, My people, so that you will not share in her sins or contract any of her plagues. 5 For her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.' " In speaking of the New Jerusalem, John states in: Revelation 21:22, "And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb." and in: Revelation 22:14-15, "Blessed are those who keep His commandments, that they may have the right to eat of the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. 15 But excluded are dogs, and sorcerers, and fornicators, and murderers, and idolaters, and everyone who loves and devises a lie."

If you are a believer, are you practicing righteousness? Do you believe in Christ, yet take His name in vain; thus remaining self-righteous? People claiming to be "Christians" today, reject the commandment of God concerning the Sabbath Day and keep their own tradition of "Sunday Worship" while ignoring multiple clear scripture directing people to observe and keep the Sabbath Day Holy! This was prophesied in Isaiah 4:1, "And in that day seven women {churches} shall take hold of one man {Christ}, saying, 'We will eat our own bread and wear our own clothing; only let us be called by Your name. Take away our shame.' " There are people who reject the bread of life and "eat their own bread" because they do not believe! They also do not accept the clothes of righteousness, thus they would appear inappropriately dressed at a wedding supper because of their "self-righteousness" (Matthew 22:11-12). Willful unbelievers ultimately receive destruction! Jude 1:5 "But I myself want to remind you, though you once understood this, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, the second time destroyed those who did not believe."
