Jesus' Global Calendar Qualification

    Times and Seasons - Events

[When God recreated this earth; He established the evening first with a twelve-hour period of darkness and then followed the darkness by twelve hours of daylight as the finishing portion of the twenty-four hour period. Anciently each day began when the sun set at the previous day’s end.]

[God’s word reveals that each year begins in the springtime. However we have had rulers that have sought to change times (seasons) and laws. (Daniel 7:25). Therefor civilizations have become accustom to calendars and time instruments “beginning” the year in the “dead” of winter. Governments also begin the “day” at midnight, in the dead of the night.]

[Originally the months were connected to the travel of the moon and the length of the year appeared to vacillate due to the nineteen-year time cycle that the moon travels in relation to the earth’s motion around the sun.]

[The Holy Bible directs us to number our days. (Psalms 90:12). However civilizations have chosen to name the days of the week after the sun and other imaginary gods. The names of stars and planets also are named after imaginary gods that they chose to define and worship.]

[As ancient peoples worshiped the sun, they became aware of the earth’s approximate 365-day cycle around the sun. People abandoned the moon and its cycles as a means of numbering months. The Romans gave us the present English calendar names. Again, they started the year in the “dead” of winter: January with 31 days. Poor February has 28 or 29 days depending if it’s a “leap year.” March has 31 days, but April has 30 days. May has 31 days, but June has 30 Days. Now we come to July, named after a Roman Emperor Julius, which has 31 days. Not to be outdone, another Roman Emperor, Augustus, wanted and got a month name after him with 31 days as well. Then the Roman imagination seems to have waned as the next four months bare only the Latin numbers of seven (September 30 days), eight (October 31 days), nine (November 30 days), and then ten (December 31 days).]

[From a scientific and religious standpoint, there could be some controversy as to how on a circular earth we can be certain when the Creation Sabbath begins and where on earth it ends (Isaiah 40:21-22). Two items of biblical knowledge enlighten us. One, the earth was divided in the days of Peleg. (Genesis 10:25). Yes there was a “Pangea” and geological evidence does reveal where the “date line” is actually located. Two, Jesus, who was instrumental in creating this earth and established our present seasons after the deluge in Noah’s day, is aware that the sun does not set at some locations upon this earth for months. Therefor Jesus gave us instruction in John 11:9] "Jesus answered, 'Are there not twelve hours in the day? ...'" [Jesus was referencing the daylight portion as witnessed in the Gospels.]

[We believe our day should be adjusted for Daylight Saving Time with the Day beginning at 7:00 PM, otherwise the day begins at 6:00 PM when there is no advancement of the clock. Thus one day ends and another day begins at either 7:00 PM or 6:00 PM depending whether time has been advanced an hour or we are on standard time. True, man has set imaginary lines on the earth to determine what time zone people are in. Imagine someone, if you will, trying to keep the Creation Sabbath while in a submarine traveling under the ocean with no reference to the sun or knowing his or her position. Let God be the judge!]

Genesis 1:5 “And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.” [Our present creation begun with day one! Thus the 24-hour day begins with the going down of the sun at evening and ends the next evening (Genesis 1:2-4).]

[By the way, meditate on this, God created Adam a mature man with a specific age of development. Aside from the fact that scientific dating methods are prone to gross errors due to incorrect assumptions concerning consistent atomic radiation and decay, God is able to create a mature earth that appears a certain age. Also search scriptures and you may determine that Genesis means beginning, but it is not the beginning of the earth’s original creation, but a recreation (Genesis 1:2). Biblical truth seems stranger than fiction. After all do you really believe in resurrections and eternal life? –We Do!]

[This is not a site for doubtful arguments or controversy. It is a site for truth. The Bible as well as science reveals that matter (what we can see and measure) has been created from energy. That source of energy is Almighty God. Evolution is a model of belief based on “blind faith and supposition” of “scientists” who have neither proof nor evidence of any evolution.]

“For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him:” (Colossians 1:16 KJVR) [and] “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for You have created all things, and for Your pleasure they are and were created.” (Revelation 4:11).

Earth Shaking Events!

"Once again Jesus shouted, and then he died. At once the curtain in the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, and rocks split apart. Graves opened, and many of God's people were raised to life. Then after Jesus had risen to life, they came out of their graves and went into the holy city, where they were seen by many people. The officer and the soldiers guarding Jesus felt the earthquake and saw everything else that happened. They were frightened and said, 'This man really was God's Son!'" (Matthew 27:50-54 CEV).

"Jesus shouted and then died. At once the curtain in the temple tore in two from top to bottom. A Roman army officer was standing in front of Jesus. When the officer saw how Jesus died, he said, ‘This man really was the Son of God!’" (Mark 15:37-39 CEV).

[Jesus:] "…said 'It is finished:' and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost (spirit)." (John 19:30) "And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost (spirit). And the veil of the temple was rent (torn) in twain (in two) from the top to the bottom." (Mark 15:37-38 KJVR). [For those seeking a sign from above here is an event that was from God showing that the Levitical priesthood with animal sacrifices etc. was finished when Christ the Messiah became our sacrifice!]

“Then He said, "Lo, I come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first covenant in order that He may establish the second covenant; By Whose will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. [Jesus was and is the ultimate sacrifice for all humans.] (Hebrews 10:9-10).

[The Sabbath, created on creation’s seventh day, was also given to the children of Israel as a perpetual covenant. (Exodus 31:16-18).]There remains, therefore, Sabbath-keeping for the people of God.” (Hebrews 4:9). [Also the Lord’s Supper is to be kept.] “For as often as you eat this bread, and drink this cup, you do show the Lord's death till He comes. (1 Corinthians 11:26). [As well as the Feast of Tabernacles.] And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. (Zechariah 14:16).
