End Time Woes and Warnings
Prelude: Do You Seek Truth! |
---|
Where is the youth that seeks words of Jesus? Where is the weekly Sabbath fellowship of people who love God and try to follow the true spiritual teachings written in the Holy Bible? Is anybody seeking the Lord and His ways? Let's pose these questions in a different manner. How many Jonahs are there today who are running from the inspiration and word of God? Where is the youth that exhibits a heart-felt desire to study and follow the teachings of Jesus? Then again perhaps you are "middle age" and the question becomes, just how receptive are you to truth? Is your mind open to the truth, wherever it might lead? Or do you reject truth that is based on the written word of God, and instead you "buy into" the dogma and traditions of this errant evil and immoral age? Warning this article may be difficult for you to comprehend. If you are bothered by it; then exit out of this subject and leave it alone! |

The mind-set of this present errant age was long ago spoken of in Isaiah 3:11-12, "Woe to the wicked! For the evil doing of his hand will be given to him. 12 As for My people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. Oh, My people, those who lead you cause you to err and destroy the way of your paths." Other errors are pointed out in Isaiah 5:20-23, "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness to light and light to darkness, who replace bitter with sweet and sweet with bitter. 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. 22 Woe to those who are heroes in drinking wine and champions in mixing beer, 23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe and deprive the innocent of justice." Immoral actions abound and the guilty are let loose, but the innocent get incarcerated. Isaiah 30:1, "Woe to the rebellious children," says the LORD, "who carry out a plan, but not of Me; and who form an alliance, but not of My Spirit, that they may add sin to sin; Isaiah 30:9-10, "These are rebellious people, deceitful children, children unwilling to obey the LORD's instruction. 10 They say to the seers, 'Stop seeing visions!' and to the prophets, 'Do not prophesy to us the truth! Speak to us pleasant words; prophesy illusions.' " Simply speaking we are nearing a time written in Judges 21:25, "… everyone did what was right in his own eyes." When asked of the sign of His coming and of the end of the age in Matthew 24:4-13, "Jesus answered, 'See to it that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, claiming, "I am the Christ," and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains. 9 Then they will deliver you over to be persecuted and killed, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10 At that time many will fall away and will betray and hate one another, 11 and many false prophets will arise and mislead many. 12 Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. 13 But the one who perseveres {endures}to the end will be saved." In such manner it has been prophesied that those who serve the living God will be hated by those who practice evil. It is important that the New Covenant Saints abide in God's truth. Revelation 14:12, "Here is a call for the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus." We are further promised and warned in 2 Timothy 2:12, "If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us." True spiritual growth requires you being open to new ideas, even when they challenge common traditions and your preconceived beliefs. Seek not to only expand yourself intellectually, but also spiritually. What should you do? 2 Timothy 2:15-16, "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing {expounding correctly} the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness." Remember this important statement in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man {son or daughter} of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." Therefore follow the example of the Bereans in Acts 17:11-12, "Now the Bereans were more noble-minded than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if these teachings were true. 12 As a result, many of them believed, along with quite a few prominent Greek women and men." So, how well versed are you with the holy word of God? Hebrews 5:12, "Although by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to reteach you the basic principles of God’s word. You need milk, not solid food!" After we have received the "basic principles of God's word" we are warned in Hebrews 10:26-27, "If we deliberately go on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins remains, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume all adversaries."

How Strong is Your Faith? |
---|
God, the Father of all, the Supreme being; Second is Psa 45:6–7. Like humans in appearance and function they are able to have sexual intercourse with the daughters of men and produce offspring. "As you study the holy scriptures, your faith will increase. Romans 10:17, "So then, faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the Word of God." Having faith is very important: Hebrews 11:6, "Now without faith it is impossible to please God. For it is mandatory for the one who comes to God to believe that He exists, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Also note, if you really believe God, then you will have works. James 2:14-20, "What good is it, my brothers, if someone claims to have faith, but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? 15 Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you tells him, 'Go in peace; stay warm and well fed,' but does not provide for his physical needs, what good is that? 17 So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead. 18 But someone will say, 'You have faith and I have deeds.' Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that God is one. Good for you! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. 20 O foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is worthless?" |
What Works Might You Do for Lord Jesus? |
---|
Just what kind of works might please God? Hebrews 10:23-25, "Let us hold fast without wavering to the hope that we profess, for He Who promised is faithful; 24 And let us be concerned about one another, and be stirring up one another unto love and good works; 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, even as some are accustomed to do; but rather, encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near." Are you willing to spread the good news of the coming Kingdom of God to this earth? Or are you ashamed of any belief in God's way of life? Do you feel incapable of preaching God's truth? 1 Corinthians 1:25-27, "Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For you see your calling, brethren, that there are not many who are wise according to the flesh, not many who are powerful, not many who are high-born among you. 27 Rather, God has chosen the foolish things of the world, so that He might put to shame those who are wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world so that He might put to shame the strong things." Just how might you be assisted in the effort to spread the Good News of Christ soon coming? Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, Who empowers {strengthens} me." Do you want to see God's Kingdom come to this earth? Are you willing personally to preach (publish), to others willing to listen, spiritual words that please God? It is our hope that others will also preach God's words of truth. Matthew 24:14, "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be proclaimed {preached} in all the world for a witness to all nations; and then shall the end come." Mark 13:10-11, "And the gospel must first be published among all nations. 11 But whenever they lead you away and deliver you up, do not be anxious beforehand nor meditate on what you should say; but whatever shall be given to you in that hour, that speak. For you are not the ones who are speaking, but the Holy Spirit." Matthew 25:31-32, "Now when the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory; 32 And He shall gather before Him all the nations…" Revelation 22:20, "He who testifies to these things says, 'Yes, I am coming soon.' Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!"
