The Tribulation IS Cut Short
Prelude: Warning Difficult to Understand! |

Warning this article may be difficult to comprehend. If it is too complex and you are bothered by it; then exit out of this subject and leave it alone! False ministers have read into Daniel 9:27 incorrect scripture meanings, thus promoting a seven year tribulation instead of a correct three and one-half year one. The Tribulation IS Cut Short |
---|
Christ spoke in Matthew that we should understand what the prophet Daniel had said and about a time of great tribulation to occur in Mat 24:15, "Therefore, when you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (the one who reads, let him understand)." Mat 24:21-25, "For then shall there be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until this time, nor ever shall be again. 22 And if those days were not limited, there would no flesh be saved {alive}; but for the elect's sake those days shall be cut short. 23 Then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or, 'He is there,' do not believe it. 24 For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and they shall present great signs and wonders, in order to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 Behold, I have foretold it to you.' " Dan 7:25 & 12:7 speak of a three and one-half year period of tribulation. Dan 7:25, "And he {the man of sin} shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change the set times and the laws. And they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and one-half time {3 & 1/2 years}." Dan 12:7, "And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever, saying, 'It shall be for a time, times, and a half a time {3 & 1/2 years}. And when the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things shall be finished.' " Rev 12:14 also speaks of a three and one-half year period of tribulation: "And two wings of a great eagle were given to the woman, so that she might fly to her place in the wilderness, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time {3 and 1/2 years}, from the face of the serpent." Daniel, himself did not understand fully what he had written: Dan 12:8-10, "And I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said, 'O my lord, what shall be the end of these things?' 9 And he said, 'Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and refined. But the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand." Dan 12:11-13, "And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days {3 & 1/2 years + 30 days}. 12 Blessed is he who waits and comes to the thousand three hundred and thirty-five days {3 and 1/2 years + 30 days + 45 days}. 13 But you, go your way till the end be, for you shall rest and stand in your lot at the end of the days." 1,335 days may extend into the Kingdom of God on earth. We at this time can not fully explain how these days apply towards bible prophecy. However note that the three & one half year period stands as stated in Dan 7:25 & 12:7, and Rev 12:14. Mat 24:29, & Mar 13:24-25, "Now in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give its light. 25 "And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken." Mar 13:26-27, "And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 "And then He shall send His angels, and shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven." Dan 9:27, People falsely use this one scripture to "establish a seven year" tribulation period when other scripture clearly defines a 3 & 1/2 year period. Holy scripture does not mention any period of "seven years" of tribulation. Deceiving ministers have introduced a "7 year tribulation" and other various false concepts such as teaching a "rapture" and "Sunday Worship." Examine this link for further study: |
Evildoers Get Destroyed - Salvation is Available to All |

The King James Version (KJV) should be used in the biblical passages to examine the 3 & 1/2 years of tribulation. Most of the modern bible versions have an editorial slant/bias promoting false prevailing popular concepts. There is a 490 year prophecy that Bible scholars mistakenly cut off the last 7 years of the 490 years and place it at the end of time, saying it is a tribulation time in which the Antichrist will reign. This movement of placing the last 7 years of the 490 year prophecy into the future near the end time is a concept only recently accepted by most of Christianity within the last 150 years. Nowhere else in scripture is a prophecy broken up like that; where they falsely inserted the last seven years of the 490 years into current end times. Thus "their 70th week" does not follow the 69th week like other prophecies that are consecutive in their days, weeks, months, and years. (The irrational thought of the "7 year tribulation" is akin to reaching the 69th mile of a 70 mile trip, only to find out that the 70th mile is over some 2,000 miles away.) Antichrist is NOT in Daniel 9:27! The whole focus of Dan 9:24-27, is about the Messiah (Jesus) and is applied to the Jewish people. The Jews would be given 490 years of probation to get their act together for the anointing of Jesus as Messiah. By researching scripture, you will understand that Jesus died in the midst of a literal week. All scholars agree, the Messiah being cut off refers to Jesus' crucifixion. As for the verse continuing with "And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary," scholars in the past consistently applied that to the destruction of Jerusalem and the second temple by Prince Titus' Roman army in 70 A.D. Thus verses 24-27, can not be the Antichrist! "Futurism is a concept first conceived by a Jesuit priest named Francisco Ribera. He published the concept around 1590 to deflect the growing protestant accusation that the Roman church's pope was the Little Horn (Antichrist) and the church itself was the "beast" from the sea, written about in Daniel 7 & Revelation 13, respectively. Futurism made its way into today's American's (eschatological) study of end time events, by way of the Scofield Bible, the Dallas Seminary, Hal Lindsay’s book, the Late Great Planet Earth, and the Left Behind series. (The Catholic Church is also responsible for another end time event interpretation called Preterism, a Christian doctrine saying that at least some of the apocalyptic prophecies in the Bible describe events that occurred within the first century after Jesus's death, rather than events that are still in the future.) The Apocryphal Books were removed in 1885 from the Bible in an effort to reduce printing costs and thus conceal the truth. Jesus' anointing to begin His public ministry began at the beginning of the last 7 years of the 490 year prophecy. 3 & 1/2 years later, the middle (the midst) of the 7 years, he was crucified. Examine scripture and be knowledgeable that Christ died on the fourth day of the week (a Wednesday), literally in the middle of the week and the Old Covenant ended! Causing the necessity for sacrifices to cease! Heb 10:8-9, "…Sacrifice and offering …You did not desire nor delight in. 9 … He {Christ} takes away the first covenant in order that He may establish the second covenant." At the point of His death, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom (Mat 27:51). The tearing of the veil meant that animal sacrifices were no longer needed because the ultimate sacrifice had been made. "For the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate." In Mat 23:38, Jesus told the Pharisees, "Behold, your house is left unto you desolate." He was foretelling of resulting desolation because of the abominations they had committed. The Jewish Temple, and by extension the nation, is what was made desolate by the death of Jesus. As mentioned earlier, His sacrifice rendered meaningless the Temple's service and collection of tithes. Some 40 years later, the Temple and the nation was made desolate in 70 A.D. After Jesus' death, the last 3 & 1/2 years of the 7 year period, Jesus' disciples preached the continual spread of the new covenant gospel to the Jewish nation. The new covenant of the kingdom of God being preached to the Jew first, was therefore confirmed, with the Jewish nation for the prophetic week of 7 years. At the end of the 7 years, which completed the 490 year probation period, the gospel was then taken to the gentile world.

The Rapture is a False Teaching |
---|
Our article "The Rapture is a False Teaching" disputes the false claim of any "rapture" occurring in the end tribulation times, before any trouble occurs. Listen to Jesus praying to the Father for us: "I pray NOT that You should TAKE THEM OUT OF THE WORLD, but that You should keep them from evil (one)." (Joh 17:15). Verse 20 – "Neither pray I for these alone but for them also which shall believe on me through their word." That is you and me. If JESUS asked NOT to take us OUT, we're NOT going! The false Rapture theory has nothing to do with your Salvation. Just make sure you are ready to meet Jesus, no matter how or when you die, or when Jesus returns to the earth to set up His Kingdom. The truth of the matter is that the church will go through the "mark" of the beast scenario and the falling of the plagues. Examine this link for further study: http://www.ekklesiachurchofgod.com/No_Rapture.html There is much scripture to support God's Laodicean people going through tribulation. For example Jesus said in Mat 24:9 & 13, "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name… But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." (Mat 24:9, 13) Jesus, after mentioning the tribulation, also said, "And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved {alive}: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." (Mat 24: 22). In other words, the days of the great tribulation will be shortened for the sake of the church, because it will still be on earth. The Apostle Paul told the elect church that "We must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God." (Act 14: 22). Other examples are the 144,000, which says in Rev 7:14, "…'They are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation; and they have washed their robes, and have made their robes white in the blood of the Lamb.' " Noah wasn't saved from the flood; he went through it. Daniel had to go in the lion's den. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego were thrown into the burning fiery furnace. These truths probably will upset believers of the secret rapture theory; as they are comforted by its false assertion that Jesus will come for His church before or during years of tribulation. The Old Testament gives further insight into God's method of operation. In those days, plagues similar to the ones in Revelation, fell upon Egypt. God did not deliver Israel before the plagues fell; rather, He kept them from harm during and through the plagues. In like manner, God's church will be in the world and preserved when the end-time, great tribulation plagues fall. Psa 91:5-10, "You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor for the plague that walks in darkness, nor for the destruction laying waste at noonday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand; it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes you shall behold and see the recompense of the wicked. 9 Because you have made the LORD, Who is my refuge, even the Most High, your habitation, 10 No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling." In summary, there is no valid scripture to even suggest a "rapture" or validate the claim that the great tribulation is a "seven" year period. Heb 9:15, Jesus by the shedding of His blood and resurrection, confirmed and introduced a New Covenant with many (between God and man, a covenant of grace). By offering Himself a sacrifice once for all, Christ put an end to all the Levitical sacrifices. Heb 9:12 validates that it is impossible for us to be saved by the sacrifice of animals. Jesus New Covenant teachings include the ordinances of baptism and institution of the Lord's supper. Jesus teaches the obligation to keep all of the Ten Commandments, preach the coming Kingdom of God, and forgiveness by grace . God is willing to accept all humanity upon New Covenant terms. Jesus' death and resurrection enables us to claim what is bequeathed by it. The New Testament grace is not confined to physical Israel, but is offered to all nations; who may become saved through repentance, confession, and obedience to the doctrines of our Father God Almighty, taught by Jesus Christ.

The Time of the End Will Bring Great Tribulation |
---|
There are two notable things about this Great Tribulation. First, the length of time that the plagues fall is stated in Rev 18:8, as coming in one day. Since end-time Bible prophecy represents a day to be a year, the plagues, coming within a day, will end at any time before a year is up. Secondly, God's people, the church, are still on the earth. This is so because between the falling of the 6th and 7th plague, Jesus, in Rev 16:15-16, says, "Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is the one who is watching and is keeping his garments, so that he may not walk naked and they may not see his shame. 16 And he gathered them together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon." Jesus is saying to the church, as He hasn't come yet, they must remain steadfast and righteous during the falling of the plagues, which will coincide with the spiritual battle of Armageddon.

Summation |

Christ is coming soon and the time is short! Luk 12:40, "Now you, therefore, be ready; for the Son of man is coming in an hour that you do not think." Rev 22:10-14 "And he said to me, 'Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book because the time is near. 11 Let the one who is unrighteous be unrighteous still; and let the one who is filthy be filthy still; and let the one who is righteous be righteous still; and let the one who is holy be holy still. 12 And behold, I am coming quickly; and My reward is with Me, to render to each one according as his work shall be. (In other words each person receives just "reward" according to their works, whether evil or good!) 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. 14 Blessed are those who keep His commandments, that they may have the right to eat of the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.' " The final judgment, Rev 22:11-12, is coming, after the time of testing, refining and purifying, called the great tribulation! Rev 14:12, "Here is the patience of the saints; here are the ones who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus." Keep all Ten Commandments! Rev 22:20-21, "He Who testifies these things says, 'Surely, I am coming quickly.' Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen."
